DAY 1: Interactive and Technical Workshop Day

Interactive and In-depth Morning Workshop: Financing renewable energy projects in Kenya: Frameworks, mechanisms, regulations and opportunities

Interactive regional opportunities afternoon: Renewable energy opportunities for Kenyan and international businesses in the rest of East Africa. Exploring and understanding the renewable energy opportunities in Tanzania, Ethiopia and Uganda

 

DAY 2: Examining Kenya’s pro-renewable regulatory climate, forecasts for growth and initial renewable success stories on and off-grid

Today’s morning session will give you in-depth policy and regulatory updates from Kenyan government and key renewable energy stakeholders. Enabling you to decipher the true extent of the opportunities, and what policy really means for commercial development and investment.

The afternoon will see the conference split into two tracks, one focused on utility scale renewable energy, one focused on the off-grid and C&I space. Each track will provide insight into the initial success stories and ground breaking projects, with key takeaways for anyone looking to enter the market.

The day will finish with cocktail roundtable discussions and the opportunity to continue networking and making new connections at the evening drinks reception.

 

DAY 3: Securing capital, structuring investment and driving Kenya’s renewable energy sector to further growth

The final day of KENREC sees a strategic focus on the investment climate for renewable energy development in Kenya. Insight from a range of investors and financers enables you to gauge exactly what the appetite for investment is, and how capital can be secured.

After the morning’s investment focus KENREC again divides into two tracks. The utility scale track uncovering the opportunities for IPPS and ensuring land access hurdles can be successfully navigated, whilst the C&I and off-grid track explores the practicalities of working with a range of local stakeholders for smooth project development.

KENREC 2016 concludes with a wrap-up panel, where speakers review the key takeaways from the 3 days and forecast what the future holds for Kenya’s renewable space – and outline how you can be a part of it.
